Prints are an essential part of the All At Sea DNA. Every season we create custom made patters, which are printed on pure high quality silk. Each collection contains a range of lasting signature prints as well as a variety of seasonal prints with a bold and artistic edge.
The AAS signature prints are inspired by Japanese traditional style architecture. Our Creative Director Benjamin Monrad used to live in Osaka and is closely connected to the Japanese design tradition.
Our Wave Print is based on the traditional Japanese pattern Seigaiha, which has been used for more than a thousand years on clothing and textiles. Seigaiha means 'Blue Wave of the Sea' and symbolises power, resilience and surges of good luck.
Our signature range also includes Square Print and Armor Print, which are based on the historic Japanese patterns Hiraizutsu and Guri.
All At Sea will be introducing print collaborations with some of our favourite designers and artists. For Autumn/Winter 2018 we have collaborated with Torunn Myklebust who is a Norwegian print and textile designer based in Paris. Torunn has worked with a range of international fashion houses including Alexander McQueen, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs and Neil Barrett.
For our AW18 collection she has created an abstract and graphic interpretation of our signature Wave Print. The shapes are fluid and playful and the colour palette is bold and vibrant. A nod to the psychedelic era of the 1960s.
